NextFactory - the Machine

.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The NextFactory Machine will be the technological centrepiece of the NextFactory Solution.

Based on a generic multi-process concept and system architecture, the Machine will combine - on one platform - 3D freeform printing process modules, 3D microassembly techniques, simulation tools and quality management methods.

It will be designed to cover the entire freeform manufacturing process for as many different types of mechatronic micro-systems as possible.

A single human machine interface shall allow easy control of the complete manufacturing process without detailed knowledge of single process steps.

The realisation of this advanced and unique manufacturing device is the ambitious goal of a 2-3 year long, iterative R&D process.  A first integrated version of the NextFactory Machine is expected for project mid-term (2016), able to

  • produce first demo parts of future Next Factory products,
  • demonstrate the feasibility of the overall NextFactory Solution,
  • prove its adaptability to the needs of different application domains and use cases,
  • support the validation of the different component technologies, process modules and related sub-systems.
