On March 30th 2015 Oliver Refle, NextFactory Coordinator at Fraunhofer-IPA and Joachim Wiest, CEO of cellasys and NextFactory project partner, introduced the novel solution for customised 3D microsystem manufacturing at the Industrial Workshop Higher Value production technologies and KET enabled applications, a joint initiative of several EC projects (3D-HIPMAS, 4M2020, FABIMED, HINMICO, HI-MICRO, HIPR, HYPOLINE, MICRO-FAST, NEXTFACTORY, SMARTLAM).
cellasys is, a producer of system solutions for the online analysis of living cells. Joachim Wiestpresented one of the Use Cases of the NextFactory project, namely UC2. In Use Case 2: “All-in-one manufacturing of sensor systems for autonomous monitoring in food” cellasys is developing and testing a new type of micro-sensor device for monitoring dissolved oxygen in sealed compartments. Joachim also emphasized many of the benefits of the future NextFactory machine and manufacturing solution for cellasys such as just in time production, cost efficient small scale production, customized autonomous devices and reduced prototyping times.
Oliver Refle, NextFactory project coordinator gave insight into the technical background of the NextFactory machine and its components and invited workshop attendees to become involved in the project.
